TOMMYCAR AUTO GROUP CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT IN MEMORY OF FATHER IS A GREAT SUCCESS
Hadley, MA - The 4th Annual Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Crestview Country Club in Agawam, MA, on September 10th, 2012. The 4-player scramble was a great success and helped raise $97,600 for cancer research at the Dana-Farber Center for Neuro Oncology.
When Thomas E. Cosenzi passed away from brain cancer in 2009, he was only 52 and had everything to live for. Ownership of his business, TommyCar Auto Group which consists of Country Nissan, Country Hyundai, Patriot Buick GMC and the all new Northampton Volkswagen, is now in the capable hands of Tom's children, Carla and Tommy, who honor their father by raising funds for cancer research. In the first three years of existence, the tournament raised more than $300,000 which was presented to Patrick Wen MD., Clinical Director of Dana-Farber Center for Neuro Oncology.
"My father's vision was that no other family would have to endure the pain of cancer," said Carla Cosenzi. "It was his wish that we continue to raise money for cancer research at Dana-Farber through its Jimmy Fund." Since its debut in 2009, the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $300,000 for treatment of both common and rare forms of brain tumors at the Dana-Farber Center for Neuro-Oncology.
